Make Me Laugh!

It's Been a "Murphy's Law" Day . . . Week!!!

I just want to LAUGH!

Forget formatting. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Correct grammar doesn't matter this is just me venting anyway. Capitalization . punctuation SPELLING, and every thing else is off the table today.

None of that matters. My brain is "FRIED"!!!

I just want to LAUGH!

In the famous/favorite words of Clint Eastwood in a favorite movie . . .

"Go 'hed, Make My Day!"

Go 'hed, Make Me LAUGH!
Ok, that's kinda cute.

People Who Want Everything They See

It's Sooo Annoying

Do you know someone who wants every dat-gummed thing they see anybody else with? It doesn’t matter what it is, if they see you with it, they want some. If you talk about something you ate, they want some. If you mention that you bought a particular something two years ago, they want one.

God forbid if you walk through the room in a pair of raggedy old slippers, they want to know where you got them. You tell them where you got them, and the next thing you know, they want a pair.

How about it, do you know anyone like that? It is one of the most annoying things I know of. It makes me lie, just plain-old-straight-out-lie.

Once during a visit with my “person who wants everything they see”, I entered the room one morning with my piping hot cup of coffee. I’m ready to settle down, sip my coffee, and chat with them for a while. Before I could even bend my knees to sit on the couch, they asked, “What’s that you drinking?”

Without blinking an eye I replied, “Water”.

There now, that ought to hold them while I enjoy my morning coffee in peace!

Ok, I’m done. That’s my rant for the day, good to get that off my chest. Wheeewww!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you know anyone who wants everything they see someone else with? How do you handle them?

What’s the BIG DEAL!?

Why All the Hype & Controversy about Opening Up Schools?

Do I look like I “give-a-care” what they think or say?

So what if the news is consistently reporting that schools should open up?  Who gives a “Good Cuss” if the President and other high-level officials say schools should open . . . soon? What is the big deal anyway?

I don’t see a problem. My grandson is NOT going to school when it opens! GOD blessed me with this miracle child, and I will not participate in reckless unhealthy practices concerning his health and well-being. I’m too Blessed to act stupid!

5-day old Grandson in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit)

Leaving Hospital - 14 days old . . . just a "dot" in the car seat!

Home: 2 months old - in Grandma's thankful arms!

Enough already, that’s my rant about schools opening up soon. My grandson will NOT be going!

6 years later, "Ain't GOD GOOD". . . AGG!

What are your thoughts on this topic? Are you sending your school aged kids to school when they open? Why? Why not? Please tell us your POV in the comments. We’d love to hear it.

About Me

 I’m An Odd-Ball!

At least, I Think I’m An Odd-Ball

I am not a telephone person. I don't like talking on the phone a lot. I never have been much of a phone person. I was never a big talker anyway, and even got labeled the quiet shy one. As a teenager growing up, I probably was considered an “odd ball”. But, nobody ever said it to my face, just behind my back.

I especially don’t like talking to people (especially on the phone) who go on and on and on talking a mile a minute about nothing, like a broken record. They just keep on talking, talking, talking, about themselves, their problems, their lives and so forth and so on. Drives me crazy! I feel totally drained after talking to them. This is just my personal point of view.

On the other hand though, there are a handful of people that I love talking to. They never complain about their lives or other junk. They don’t engage in idle gossip. They are good listeners, and they have positive things to say all the time. Even when they talk about unpleasant things, they are not energy suckers. I always feel happy, refreshed, and energized after talking to them.

There you have it, my rant about why I don’t like talking on the telephone. So, how do you feel about talking on the phone? Do you like talking on the phone or not? What are your thoughts about talking on the phone?

Doing Diddly-Squat

I Don’t Feel Like Doing Diddly-Squat

Today is one of those days I don’t feel like doing diddly-squat, nothing, nada, zip, zilch, zero!

I have done a fantastic job of "not-doing-nothing" ... so far today. I hope nothing happens to interfere with this great “do nothing” session I have going on.

I don’t have a head full of creative ideas and there are no wow-inspiring stories floating around up there either. I’m just blank today.

What do I think about this? I think this is what happens when I have done too much, given too much of myself without replenishing the positive, and did not take the time to check-in with myself along the way.

I’m taking the rest of today to do nothing, I’m going to check-in with myself to find out what I need for ME.

Wishing you a Happy Friday Night!

I Ate the Last Cookie

Yes, I ate the last cookie!

Not only did I eat “The Last Cookie”, I brought the bag in from the grocery store, took it straight to MY room and, hid it from everybody’s line-of-vision. These cookies are MINE!

I used to save the last of anything and everything for my family. These days, there’s no more saving the last of everything for somebody else. There is no more thinking they might be hungry, and no more thinking of them before I think of myself. Those days are long gone.

It is about time they think of ME for a change. They need to be saving things for me without me having to ask for it. They should remember to save me some of whatever it is they are eating or drinking.

It took a long time for me to get to this place in time. I took the long way around to get here, like I have done with far too many things in life.

Sounds selfish?! This is not as selfish as some might think because “they” are all grown. There is no need for me to think of them first, last, and everywhere in between anymore.

I even wrote a poem called “The Last Cookie” in my self-published book in 2008. I’ll share that poem with you…one day…if I don’t forget.

Do you have little ones? Do you find yourself saving food, drinks, and snacks for them? What are your thoughts on saving “stuff” for others instead of eating/drinking it yourself?

Good to the Last Drop

The Very Last Drop…of Toothpaste

Image result for last drop of toothpaste cartoons

One Friday I went to the store and forgot to get toothpaste. Oh well, there’s always enough toothpaste left in the tube to get several more brushings, so not to worry. We usually squeeze it to the very last drop anyway.

Monday morning found me procrastinating and not making the slightest effort to replace the toothpaste. Nobody else in the house seemed interested either as I didn’t see them going to get it.

Tuesday: Milk is out, eggs are almost gone, nothing but butt ends left in the bread bag, and there is only a swig of ice tea left in the jug. Orange juice is all gone. I have GOT to go to the store now. When the drinks run low, it’s time to do something. I made a list, headed for the store, and picked up everything we needed.

Wednesday morning I opened the new box of toothpaste and grabbed the old tube to toss it in the trash. The sight of the old squashed up tube laying (yes…laying) next to the brand new tube sent me scurrying for my camera. I’m a camera fanatic, you know.

Then, the thought crossed my mind…do I toss the old tube or should I keep it until it’s totally all the way empty? Don’t laugh, there was a time when I would have kept it and even cut it open with scissors to get the very last drop.

Not this time though, I tossed it!

There you have it, my nonsensical rant about squeezing toothpaste.

Do you squeeze your toothpaste tube to the last drop? Or do you replace it well before it gets near the end? What are your thoughts on squeezing the Last Drop of Toothpaste?

What did I come in here for?

What did I come in here for?

I just sat down with my tablet again, for the third time. I already made two trips to the bedroom to get something but forgot what it was by the time I got there.

Image result for i forgot cartoons
The first time I went in the bedroom, I changed my shoes, emptied trash cans and, wiped off the top of my nightstand. As I finished taking the last bag of trash from its container and tying it shut, I glanced around the room to see what else I needed to do. Nothing!

That done, I start for the den.

Oh, wait! What did I come in here for in the first place?!

Ummm, I don’t remember. Oh, well.

Back in the den, I grab my tablet to take up where I left off. Click. I turn it on. OH DANG,

my battery is almost dead!

That’s what it was! I went to the bedroom to get the charger to charge my tablet’s battery.

Ok. Back to the bedroom! Durn battery!

As soon as I enter the bedroom, I hang up a couple of shirts. Then I…

What was it I came in here for?!!!

Needs vs Wants

There are quite a few household and personal things I need to do. But first, I need to get some rest. I want to REST! I want to SLEEP! I want some sleep and some rest!

If I had the opportunity, I could sleep for two days straight only getting up to eat or go to the lady’s room. Seriously!

I need to go grocery shopping soon or the family will think I lost my whole entire mind. I could put away some clutter that’s accumulated. Siiigghh ):

I certainly need to get better acquainted with Sir Hoover, the vacuum cleaner and Lady Pledge, the dust-buster queen. I need to do all this but, will I?

I should probably do a couple of them, maybe all of them. Then again I don’t feel like doing any of them. Truth be told, I don’t WANT to do anything. So I won’t!!!

The more I think about it, the more I think it would be nice to just lollygag and play around on my computer and my tablet. Okay, that settles it. I’m going to diddle the time away until bedtime.

Maybe I can rest when I go to bed tonight.  I don’t know if any of this made sense, but I got it out. That’s my rant for the day!

Just My 2-cents worth,,,

Okay, enough already. Now, go sit down somewhere and be quiet dellgirl.

About Me

100 Words About Me

I am a female, born and raised in the great State of Texas. I am a ‘Daddy’s Girl’ …always have been, always will be. Daddy looks down on me from heaven now. I am still, Daddy’s Girl. I Love You Daddy!

I was born in the fall. That is probably why fall is my very favorite season. I have three brothers, I am the oldest.

I was a tomboy. I played backyard football with guys who later played pro-football.

My daddy taught me to shoot a rifle when I was eight years old. He also taught me to respect guns.

There you have it. That is 100 Words About Me.

What Did You Do Today?

What Did You Do Today? What about yesterday?

Here it is 8:15 pm Thursday August 1st and I’m trying to settle down for the day. The past several months have been a complete blurrr, more so than usual. So much going on and to do, I don’t dare “Go-there”. Those are drama stories for another time.

All of these goings-on have brought to mind something that grabs my attention every time it happens. Have you ever watched a crime drama movie where the police asked a suspect where they were on a particular day (in the past) and what were they doing?

I have. I watch them all the time, they’re my favorite stuff to watch. And, it never ceases to amaze me that the police expect a full accounting of the person’s whereabouts and actions. I would be all the way “up-BLANK-creek-“without a paddle if they asked me that question. They would probably lock me up and throw away the key.

The past couple of days were extremely busy with lots of things to do while grandson Jace was away on vacation. I remember most (not all though) of what I did today. But, I couldn’t tell you one thing I did on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, even if you paid me. It’s just that bad.

Okay, enough already! I’m rambling on and ranting about much of nothing. Anyway, I forgot what I was trying to say here. Guess I’d better go regroup and get myself together.

So, what did you do today? What did you do Monday and Tuesday? What about this past weekend?

Wishing you a beautiful Friday!

Up The Creek Without A Paddle

Up The “CREEK” Without a Paddle is An Old Saying. I know you have heard the old saying, “Up the creek without a paddle”.

Yes, I see you smiling over there, you’ve heard it. I have actually cleaned the title up a bit so that it is not considered profane or inappropriate.

The actual title is “Up BLANK Creek Without a Paddle”. The word in the blank begins with an “s” and, it ends with a “t”. It has two letters in the middle, “h” and “i”.

Why am I talking about being up blank creek without a paddle? I am talking about it to keep from going absolutely head-banging crazy. Mama is on one of her “out-of-her-mind” journeys. I’m dealing with it as calmly as humanly possible, without getting dramatic myself.

If it would do any good, I would scream! But, it won’t. So, I won’t. Thank God it’s almost her bedtime.

Until then…

I am “UP BLANK CREEK”!!!

Thank GOD, It's FRIDAY!

Thank GOD, it's FRIDAY! Another week just flew by, had me busy as a little bee with a never-ending “to-do” lists. There were the usual things that just HAD to be done, along with a few incidentals that popped-up in the middle of it all. I got the important stuff done though. Thank goodness.

Now the week is gone already. Well, thank God, it's FRIDAY and I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend…sorta. Mama’s here, she came yesterday. Time to do some serious bringing, fetching, and carrying!

Still, I look forward to a whole lot of quiet time doing as much nothing as possible whenever I can today and the entire weekend. Feeding and medicating Mama is the only “must-do” thing to do, so far. I hope it stays that way all weekend.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I almost forgot the best part. The absolute BEST part of the week was getting to spend more time with Grandson. School is out for the summer. Yaaa!

We spent a lot of time chatting, chill-laxing, and snacking/eating. Boy that kid can eat! He must be going through a “growth-spurt” or something. He left yesterday evening to spend a few days with is other grandmother.

Okay, okay enough random ranting already. Happy Friday Everyone!

What about you? How was your week? What fun things do you have planned for the weekend? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Anybody heard any funny jokes lately? I need a good laugh!

May tomorrow bring happiness beyond belief,
joy beyond comparison,
and peace to sooth your soul.

Wishing you a blessed and serene weekend!

True Confessions

Confessions of a LateBloomer

How well do we know anybody? We don’t. We only know what we see when we are with them. We also see how another person portrays himself or herself to the world.

We don't know what they're hiding behind the mask they present to the world. People lie all the time. It is easy to get mislead online, and we would be non-the-wiser. That’s a sad fact, but it’s true.

So, who am I? What do I like and what do I do? I love reading, writing, sewing, crafts, and jewelry making.

I like researching online. I’m addicted to plain old research. I also spend a lot of time researching ways to make money online. I haven’t made much headway along those lines so far. I’m still searching though.

I also started researching my daddy’s family history online in 2008, but I’ve had to put that aside for a while. Life happened - - again and again and again.

Well, enough about me for now. I could go on and on forever. Did I say I love writing? I do love it. This is just a little of the life of the ~LateBloomer~, my online name…for a few hot minutes.

Who are you? What do you like? What do you do? Do you have a hobby?
