Thank God, it's FRIDAY!

Another week just flew by, had me busy as a little beaver with its never-ending “to-do” lists. Sorting and compiling receipts for income taxes wasn’t something I’d planned to do. But, I thought I’d give the “Mister” a hand and do it anyway. Then, there were the usual things that just HAD to be done.

To top it all off, a few incidentals popped-up along the way. I got it all done though. Thank goodness.

Now the week is gone already. Well, thank God, it's FRIDAY (night) and I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend…sorta. Mama’s here, she came yesterday for her week with me.

I look forward to a whole lot of quiet time doing as much nothing as possible whenever I can. Feeding and medicating Mama is the only “must-do” thing to do, so far. I hope it stays that way all weekend.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I almost forgot the best part. The absolute BEST part of the week was Thursday evening. Grandson Jace has been taking piano lessons in an after school arts program. Their recital was yesterday. Needless to say, my heart skipped several beats as I watched him sitting at that piano, playing a tune, and singing along. What a JOY to behold, my little miracle boy playing the piano!

I’ll share photos as soon as I upload and sort through them.

Okay, enough random ranting already. Happy Friday Night Everyone!

What about you, what fun things do you have planned for the weekend? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Anybody heard any funny jokes lately? I need a good laugh!

May tomorrow bring happiness beyond belief, joy beyond comparison, and peace to sooth your soul.

Wishing you a blessed and serene weekend!

This is a Banana!

This is a banana! I’ve spent my whole life believing this was an apple. My mama was the first one to tell me it was an apple, and I believed her. Why wouldn’t I?

I finally learned the truth. This is a banana!

What do you think this is? Who told you what it is? Do you have any comments about this banana?

The Ant and The Dove

An ANT went to the bank of a river to quench its thirst, and was carried away by the rush of the stream, it was on the brink of drowning.
A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her. The Ant climbed on to the leaf and floated in safety to the bank.

Shortly afterwards a bird-catcher came and stood under the tree, and laid his lime-twigs trap for the Dove, which sat in the branches.
The Ant, perceiving his design, stung him on the foot. In pain the bird-catcher threw down the twigs, and the noise made the Dove take wing and fly away.

One good turn deserves another!

The Price

Those who truly appreciate things of value are willing to pay the price for them.

Those who will not pay the price are doomed to experience a never-ending frustration. Everything of value has a price. If there is something you wish to have or to accomplish, you must pay the price.

When you accept that the price must be paid, then it really doesn’t seem so bad. Most of the pain of paying the price is in overcoming your own resistance. As you become more gratefully and cheerfully willing pay the price -- whether that price be in money, time, or effort -- you naturally summon the resources that enable you to indeed pay that price and achieve whatever you desire.

When you’re willing to pay the price, you’ll find a way to pay the price. And when you’re able to pay the price, whatever you desire is yours.

Happy Birthday Jace!

Happy Birthday Jace!

Grandson Jace turned 8 years old last week. We had a great Birthday Party for him at Urban Air Adventure Park, a fun filled amusement facility. Jace was all over the place, running, jumping, and literally having the time of his life. He was as happy as a little monkey in a banana factory!

A Happy Birthday - Allergen Free Cake

It was a wonderful day of kid-friendly activities. We didn't have to utter the dreaded "No" word not one time. He was free to explore and touch any and everything in the place. What a joyous sight!

I watched happily as he zipped from one activity to another at his usual "fast-as-lightning" speed. I was as excited as a kid under the tree on Christmas morning!

His excitement brought to mind a lot of things. I was especially reminded of a few conversations he and I have had. Boy, the most baffling things comes out of his mouth!

For example:  A Conversation with my 7 year old grandson

Jace: MiMi are you glad I was the one sperm out of all the millions and millions of sperms to survive and be born?

Me: (Glad he can't see the look on my face...) Why, yes Jace. I am glad.

Jace: How glad were you when I was born MiMi?

Me: I was very glad Jace.

Jace: Just...very glad? That's all?

Me: Oh no, I was really really really really very awesomely glad Jace.

Jace: Ok. MiMi I'm hungry.

Me: SMH! Baffled!!!

Enough said! I didn't even want to get into a conversation about how and when did he learn this information. So, I left it alone and went about my business. I'll save the rest for another time.

Have you ever had a conversation with a kid that left you baffled, Shaking Your Head?

1st Day of School 2017

Jace Goes to School 2017

Tuesday September 12, 2017 we celebrate another milestone in the life of Grandson Jace, his first day of school as a second grader. Another year, another BLESSING!

What a long way we’ve come. Many of his health issues and other problems are gone but not forgotten.  They’re logged away in my book of “Thank you GOD for bringing us through the struggles and challenges up to this present time!”

Grandson and his mommy no longer live with me, so I didn’t see him off to school this year. I woke up earlier than usual though, couldn’t stop thinking about Jace going to school.

Around 11:30 am, my daughter texted me to check my email, she’d sent me something. I did. Photos and a video of Jace making his way to class brought the biggest grin to my face!

I smiled, giggled, and laughed OUT LOUD as Jordyn followed Jace with her camera from the car to class. Made My Day!!!

These photos and video are just what I needed, exactly what I wanted. Each frame of the video tugs at my heart, thinking of how truly blessed we are to see and celebrate this day.

He makes his way down the hall, ready to tackle whatever lies ahead. My heart melts again as he begins another journey, another blessed milestone in his life. His journey to 2nd grade is a blessing to behold, Thank you GOD!

Jace's Journey to 2nd Grade

I made it to the end of the video without tearing up, thankfully.

However, when I closed the video my computer returned to my home screen. The emotional dam almost broke wide open. I felt the tears welling up in my eyes, my heart skipped several beats, and my breath came in short quick gasps.

Looking back at me was my screensaver photo of Jace at 14 months old with that big beautiful, heart-melting smile of his. I was about to lose it and start boo-hooing tears of joy all over the place.

ScreenSaver Photo: Jace 14 months old

I shook it off and reminded myself that I promised not to do that. This is GOOD! I’ve vowed to remember the blessing God has granted us. I promised myself to celebrate the milestones and achievements joyfully.

And, that’s exactly what I did. I kept the emotions and tears at bay then said a prayer of Thanksgiving.

Thank God for blessing us to celebrate Jace’s first Day of 2nd Grade, another amazing milestone.

Where In the World Are You?

Houston, Texas

Photo taken before Hurricane Harvey.

Really, where are you? Where in the world are you located? We, your friends, would like to know. Why am I being a nosey-rosey, getting all up in your business, asking you where you live?

After Hurricane Harvey a friend wished me well and sent prayers for me and the family. She also said she had no idea I lived in Houston. That started me thinking, I don’t know where many of my Blog Friends live either. I suppose I could check everyone’s profile page.  So, let’s do this instead.

Leave a comment and let us know where you are. We’d appreciate knowing where our Blog Friends are in the world.

Hurricane Harvey

Thank You for Your Prayers During Hurricane Harvey!

Please continue to pray for us as we deal with the aftermath of Harvey's damages.

I watched apprehensively as rain poured from the sky, the street in front of my house was completely covered within minutes. I moved steadily around the house and storage room gathering my already prepared “Hurricane Supplies”. Every so often I’d look outside to see what the weather was doing.

Hurricane Harvey continued to drench everything in sight. Strong winds bent some trees almost in half and sent debris flying in all directions. I continued collecting hurricane supplies so they would be handy in case of a power outage. Harvey ravaged on outside while I prepared for the unknown inside.

Preparing for Hurricane Harvey:

Propane Generator at the ready!

Propane Tanks ready to fuel the generator.

Batteries, flashlights, candles, etc. are ready and handy in bedroom.

Clothes, shoes, purse, and personal care items are ready, waiting by the door.

The only thing left to do is to wait and PRAY

ICE: 'In Case of Emergency'

This information could literally save your life!
Apparently this is a standard procedure all paramedics follow at the scene of an accident when they come across your cell phone.

ICE - 'In Case of Emergency' We all carry our mobile phones with names and numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.

If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' -In Case of Emergency- Campaign.

The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell/mobile phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' - In Case Of Emergency.

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose.

In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE.'

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference! Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!

Please share this. It won't take too many 'Shares' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.

ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.
