The Ant and The Dove
An ANT went to the bank of a river to quench its thirst, and was carried away by the rush of the stream, it was on the brink of drowning.
A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her. The Ant climbed on to the leaf and floated in safety to the bank.
Shortly afterwards a bird-catcher came and stood under the tree, and laid his lime-twigs trap for the Dove, which sat in the branches.
The Ant, perceiving his design, stung him on the foot. In pain the bird-catcher threw down the twigs, and the noise made the Dove take wing and fly away.

Two mother terns were sitting on their nests on the cliffs. When one mother tern was gone an owl tried to grab the unprotected egg. The other mother tern saw this and chased the owl off. The mother tern came back to the nest to find her egg unharmed.
ReplyDeleteWhen the second mother tern flew off for food the first mother tern noticed the other egg was going to be blown by the wind out of the nest. She flew over and secured the egg. The second mother tern came back to her safe egg. Moral: One good tern deserves another.
