Road Trip to Kemah

On the road to Kemah early Friday morning, sunshine blue skies moderate to light traffic, looking forward to leaving work and things needing to be done behind.

Entering the Boardwalk, the welcome sign is hung, inviting us inside to absorb the fun and festivities.

I’m ready! I think. At least, I’m ready in my mind. We’ll just have to wait and see what’s inside and what I can manage. Ummm, that GIANT roller coaster looks a bit overwhelming, can’t remember the last time I rode on a roller coaster. And, that “Drop Zone” doo-hickey looks absolutely to-die-for!

No, make that “to-die-IN”!

Long gone are the days of forced bravado for the sake of impressing Mr. Wonderful. No more acting as if I’m Super Girl who is fearless AND fun. No way am I getting on that contraption! Just point me to the slow train, 2 mph please.

Then, I’ll stand quietly by the water’s edge and marvel at the sights, giving Thanks to God for his many blessings. This is good, life is good.
How was your weekend? What did you do for fun and relaxation? Spend time with family? Church? Shopping?

Whatever it was, I hope you had a fantastic weekend.

  1. Lovely! I miss the water, so much. Nothing breathes peace into my soul quite the same way that open, natural water does.

This weekend was lovely. Church today then a sweet little birthday party for my great-niece's 1-year birthday! It was fun. This is all my husband's family and they are the best. I love them! ♥

    Have a great week Dellgirl!

  4. Looks and sounds like a wonderful time. I get more and more scared of rollercoasters as I get older! When Amber was little I would ride with her 'cause there was no way I would let her go alone. Now I almost refuse. She's gonna have to ride with her younger siblings 'cause I'm too old for that! LOL

I can't even remember what I did this past weekend. (HA! We just talked about memory, didn't we?)
