Canon PowerShot SD780IS - Camera
This Canon PowerShot SD780IS Camera is an awesome point & shoot camera for beginners.
Mere
words cannot begin to describe the awesomeness of this little camera. That said
I will TRY to explain some of the reasons I find this Canon PowerShot SD780IS absolutely
amazing. #1: It is teeny-tiny-SMALL!
It's teeny-tiny enough fo fit in the palm of your hand. It’s
tiny enough to fit in a shirt or pants pocket. It’s small enough to fit into a
purse easily. It does not take up any space, no matter where you put it.
Don’t be fooled by the size of this small pocket-size camera though. It has some un-imaginable features. The BEST feature is that it is a great point-&-shoot camera for beginners like me. Simply point it at your subject, find your subject on the screen, and press the button. That’s it! It is just that easy to use.
Another awesome feature of this camera is that it is also great
for shooting pictures on the move. I have captured hundreds of pictures while
riding in the car, with the window rolled up. Many were blurred, at first.
Then, I developed an amateur system for getting clear focused shots - - on the move. How?
I would look ahead as we rode along, find my target, and
focus on it. As the car moved along, I kept my camera focused on the item I
wanted to shoot. When the car reached my desired object, I just pressed the
button. The pictures came out very clear, not blurred at all. You can’t beat
that for “point-&-shoot” for amateur beginners!
My photo. Taken from a moving car, passenger side.
This Canon
PowerShot SD780IS has many other great features and professional quality
capabilities. But this review concentrates only on its ease of use for beginners.
If
you like to take pictures and you are not a professional photographer, this is
the camera for you. If you want a camera you can point at something and shoot a
picture, this camera is for you.
I have a camera, but I rarely use it anymore. Instead, I rely on my cell phone.
ReplyDeleteI mostly use my cell phone too, Kathy. I very seldom use the camera anymore, especially since the phone takes great pics.

Canon is one of my favorite brands
DeleteCanon cameras are great indeed Leona. And this one definitely looks great for beginners. The picture you took while in a moving car came out great!
ReplyDeleteI also have a Canon PowerShot SX240 and love it. I've had it for a few years and still use it often, even though we have our smartphones which have great cameras nowadays. You can even take FULL HD video with it and it's got a great optical and digital zoom.
Wishing you a great rest of the week!
Hey there AJ, good to see you. Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving such a great comment. I appreciate your visit and your support. I am very grateful for that.
DeleteBeginner that I am, I'm not ready for the FULL HD video and optical and digital zoom and such. LOLL
Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week!
Thanks for the recommendation. The train picture is certainly sharp. How is it for more close-up shots? Does it do video?
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome Infidel753. Thank you for visiting, reading, and for taking the time to comment on my post. That's very nice.
DeleteYes, it does great close-ups and videos.
Thanks again and I hope you have a terrific rest of the week!
I have the big Canon Powershot which did a great job several years ago. I'm afraid I haven't even brought it with me the last two trips we took because my iPhone did a better job. EXCEPT for distance zoom shots. Then I would have needed the long lens. HOWEVER, that photo of the moving train from the car.... WOW! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe same with me, Kay. When I realized my iPhone took such great pictures, I stopped using the Canon as much. I also sometimes use the Canon to keep from burning up my phone's battery power.
DeleteHmmm.... then again, I did take shots from the Shinkansen (high speed train in Japan) which weren't too bad with my XR either. Then again, my XR did die last month and had to be replaced (thankfully within the warranty period).
ReplyDeleteDon't you just hate it when you get used to something and start to use it, and it goes and dies on us?!
DeleteMany thanks for sharing details about this camera …
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
