Once upon a time, there was a nonconforming sparrow who decided not to fly south for the winter. However, soon the weather turned so cold that he reluctantly started to fly south.
In a short time ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard, almost frozen. A cow passed by and “pooped” on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was the end. But, the manure warmed him up and defrosted his wings.
Warm and happy, able to breathe, he started to sing. Just then a large cat came by and hearing the chirping, investigated the sounds.
The cat cleared away the manure, found the chirping bird and promptly ate him.
THE MORAL OF THE STORY:
1. Everyone who “poops” on you is not necessarily your enemy.
2. Everyone who gets you out of the “poop” is not necessarily your friend.
3. AND, if you are warm and happy in a pile of “poop”, keep your mouth shut.

ReplyDeleteYou're right, Kay. It is older than dirt but, I love it. If I haven't read it for a good while, I even laugh out loud after reading it.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard that joke before but it's really funny....
ReplyDeleteToo, too funny! And wise. I shall try to learn from it. Thankfully, not too many people have pooped on me.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving with that beautiful family of yours!

LOL! I love it. I read it to my daughter while she's peeling potatoes. We really enjoyed it. The younger kids listened, but they didn't get it. My son said, "Ooooh nooo, he ate him!"
