I thought I wouldn't blog today, didn't have a clear topic in mind. That was resolved once I got a look at my desktop though, a 'pictures of Ike' folder (a new folder) glared tauntingly back at me from the screen shouting, "Here, right here, blog about me! Blog about me!"
I'll keep it short (like that's possible for me) and get right to it. These are pictures of the days immediately following hurricane Ike.
First, this is a very large cedar tree that stood by the front porch. Thank God, it fell toward the street instead of on the house. Here, a friend prepares to cut it up and clear it away.
Next, is a view of the back yard from across the street...there was a fence where you see those silver metal poles.
Last, is a close-up of the side fence to the back yard...scratch that...of where the fence was. The metal poles were the only things left standing.
The fence has been replaced, most of the debris is gone, however there is still much to do.
Today though, there's not much more to be said, but with these photos as reminders, and who wants to be reminded of that . . . I'll always remember the likes of Ike.
interesting photos of the fury of Ike, good that no one was hurt just property damage at your place...nature is powerful and scary.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad no one was hurt. I no that nature is very unpredictable.
