8 Reasons to Wet Your Fingertips

What do you think is the #1 reason to wet your fingertips?

The following eight things come to mind for me, in no particular order -- except for #1. It is the first thing I think of as a reason to wet one’s fingertips?

8. separate typed pages

7. get the dried stuff off babies/kids faces (uhhh, if they let you)

6. open the plastic bag in the produce department (then again, maybe not)

5. open a plastic trash can liner

4. get the lint off the dryer filter

3. touch the bottom of an iron to see if it’s hot enough (ouch!)

2. seal an envelope (huh?)

And, #1?
1. turn the pages of a book/magazine (eeeeeeewww, nasty!)

Do you know any other reasons to wet your fingertips (on the tip of your tongue)? Add them in the comments section. We'd love to hear from you.

  1. Oh yuck! I can't stand when I see people licking their fingers to turn the pages of books and magazines. Especially when it's public stuff. Eeewww! I rarely do the lick face either. I don't even do it with an enveloped 'cause you have to put that finger back in your mouth to get it wet again to finish. Just run your finger under a tap. Okay... well... I can't think of any other thing (that's rated G! LOL). Have a good weekend.

  2. Thanks for dropping by, Petula. You are so right about "yuck" and "eeewww". It's downright filthy. Just thinking back on how often I "DID some of those things in the past, I get [queezy].

  4. Hey Leona. So glad to see you. #1 is DOWNRIGHT nasty. ACK! I see folks do it all the time. GROSS.

I see cashiers do it to separate the bags they are putting the purchased food into. YUCK. I don't want their germy selves on my bags. I use reusable and bag them myself.

Great to see you. Have a great weekend. :)

  5. Hey, Lin. Thanks for chiming-in. And, thanks for the greeting. I'm dropping (or at least putting aside) everything to visit my blog friends today. It has been far too long.

  7. Didn't they used to lick their finger and stick it in the air to see which way the wind was blowing? I think I've tried wetting my finger to see if it worked, but I still couldn't tell.
Hi Leona! So happy to see you again!
