Fleeting Moments

You're combing your hair, washing your hands, dishes, clothes, etc. when a thought crosses your mind. There's something else - important - you remember you need to do.

However, you have a few more strokes of the comb to go, a bit more silverware in the bottom of the sink, or a shirt or two more to remove from the dryer.

You’re thinking, I'll just finish this then I'll "
do that other important thing."

Your hair is done, or the trash has been taken where it belongs.

Now, I'll go . . .

…What? What was it I was going to do?

That fleeting thought from mere moments ago, it's gone.

Geeeeezzee!!!

Go figure.

Have you ever had fleeting moments? When was the last time you had one? What was it about, do you remember?

    1. Right, Lin. If my hands were not in the dishwater or gripping my ponytail to put the rubberband on, that's exactly what I'd do. I'm a TOTAL list/note fanatic.

  3. It's like the anecdote of the elderly folk who says he often thinks of the hereafter. He walks into a room, then wonders, "What am I here after?" I have the short term memory of a fly right now, but I'm adjusting.

That little guy has this look as if to say, "Why are you taking my picture?"

    1. You got that right, Dave. I'm forever wondering "What am I here after:...drives me bonkers! The only things that helps is to go back to what I was doing. When I settle down, than I remember.

Yep, grandson was not a happy camper about being interrupted...to "smile" for a photo shoot.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate the visit.

    1. That's a great idea, I like it. I think I'll start doing a little Happy Dance when I remember something. Thanks for sharing a new way to think about things!
