The Tree

This old tree is one of the first things I see when I venture out into the backyard. I have had many conversations (in my mind) with it. I have also had hundreds of thoughts about what it might have been like before it became what you see here. We, the tree and I, have had many conversations about its experiences and adventures. I will share my conversations and thoughts with you…one day.

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind looking at this tree? What do you think about the shape it’s in? How did it get that way? What do you think should be done with or about it?

Have you seen a tree like this one in your immediate area? Do you have or have you ever had a tree like this on your property? What did you do to or with it?

I’d like to hear your comments before I share my conversations with this tree and my thoughts about it. Should I give it a name and call it a day?

Are you thinking that I, dellgirl, should be promptly committed to the looney-bin?

  2. Thanks, Lin. A tree house is a good idea...for Jace. I do well to climb up on a step-stool these days, let alone a tree house. Jace would probably love it though.

  5. Waves to Leona. How are you? Thanks for stopping by my place. Your visits mean the world to me!

I love that beautiful tree. The tree house idea is excellent. As long as there are branches to climb up. I would thank God for giving me this lovely, lovely tree to enjoy and then I would write a story about someone living in the tree. Like a family of elves or something. Great children's chapter book. (((hugs)))

  6. Robyn, what a cool idea, I love it! Anyone who writes children's chapter books could have a field-day with this, huh?

Thanks for visiting and for chiming in with the wonderful suggestion.

  8. Ummmmm, I never thought of writing children's chapter books, Robyn. That would be quite an experience. I'll give it some thought and see what I come up with. Thanks for the confidence in my writing.

  9. My brain might be strange, but I see a little gnome at the bottom of the trunk. Sadly, I don't have a lot of big trees at our house right now in Hawaii.

  10. Interesting you should say that, Kay. Since you mentioned it, I now see the little gnome. How cool is that!?

  11. We are kindred tree spirits! I notice trees all the time and have some favorites along some of my driving routes.
What is that poem that starts...
O I think I shall never see...a sight so lovely as a tree.

  13. I see a tree with character. It would look neat with a Fairy Door at the base. :-) Somebody cut it in the middle and now it's making new branches.
