Thanks For The Prayers

Before I start, and before I get off track (as only I can do): This is straight from my heart,
  • Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes for our safety during hurricane Ike. Those prayers are what saved us from total destruction and massive damages. I have a special thanks for each and every one of you by name and cyber-link. Those are forthcoming.
Update:
  • Ike's bad weather has come and gone (for the most part, there is more rain coming).
  • Everyone is fine, no one was hurt. We all only suffered property damage, thank God for that.
  • I'm still with Mama not back in "H" yet, she was hospitalized the Monday before Ike, released Thursday afternoon to come home (a long long story - for another time) and we weathered the Ike ordeal here at the old homestead Friday night and Saturday morning.
  • Not sure exactly when we'll make it back to "H" but we're trying to get there as soon as possible.
There is more. Much much more (you know how I get carried away with extra words and phrases and such) LOL. This is the short version.

Thanks again Kay and Lin. I love you guys.

  1. hang in there...it's difficult with sick moms but they took care of us when we were sick so guess it's payback time. just keep writing. I have a whole journal full of my thoughts both positive and negative about taking care of my mom when she had to go to an assisted care center and then nursing care and finally hospice-they were marvellous and now she is gone but with my father...the journal helped me work out negative feelings that I couldn't really discuss with her so I could be more positive when we were together. The interesting thing is as we care for our mothers, we are setting the example for our kids to one day care for us...unfortunately we may end up needing their care also one day.

  2. I have been hopping around the blogosphere and realizing that I never can remember where everyone is located. I am glad I came by and saw you're okay. It's good that it's only property, but I know it can be a lot of work and stressful. Take care and don't worry about us here... we'll be here when you have the chance to come by.

  3. So pleased that you escaped this last frightening hurdle with your home, your physical well being, and your sense of humor in tact.
Gosh! I can't imagine living through that kind of uncertainty.

Hope all goes well with you mother.
Know that there are a lot of us pulling for you!!

If you want to get out of the rain... you can always bunk with us in Utah for a while.
